We join a group of seven friends as they head to an exclusive island retreat for a week-long celebration after they graduate from high school. Within a couple of days the boyfriend of the girl who organised the trip is found brutally murdered, with the only possible suspects being the group of friends, and the staff from the island. Everybody (obviously) has something to hide, and we are given this information in flashback chapters.
Essentially this is a murder mystery story involving a group of friends in an isolated location (there's even a storm that rolls in), in short, there is nothing new or groundbreaking about this novel (one of the detectives near the end even has the gall to utter a phrase that is synonymous with a certain, particular detective - you'll know to whom I am referring when you read it...). It is, however, an enjoyable read, if a little bit formulaic.
