I enjoyed this book, it was such a great read especially for murder mystery fans. I got the game Cluedo vibes as well as Death in Paradise show. Initially I was not sure where the book was going as the killer seemed obvious, then we realize each character has a motive and then you keep thinking throughout 'who done it'.
I liked all the characters and really enjoyed the vibe of doing a 1920's themed week holiday in old mansion. I felt emotional when one of the investigators reveals a secret.
The writing style was great to follow and I felt the book was an easy read. The book goes from past to present and between the chapters and I felt it being a jigsaw puzzle and then it all comes together towards the end. I couldn't believe this was a debut novel and am pleased for this author. I will definitely consider reading other books in the future by this author.
