I love murder mysteries andd the idea of this novel taking place on a secluded island was such a fun locked room mystery idea. I also love mysteries that have a colourful cast of characters and that was what I was hoping I would get in this novel. Instead, I got a disjointed, confusing mess of a novel that didn't have any likeable characters in it either.

My biggest issue with this novel was that the plot was secondary to the book. Even though this is supposed to be an exiciting mystery, it never felt exciting. The murder victim was such an unlikeable character that I didn't care he was dead. Izzy was such a boring person to read about that I couldn't care what her motivations were.

The jump between first person and third person chapters was also such a strange decision and I didn't feel like it added anything to the story. I just wasn't fond of anything about this book.
