Oh wow, what a a brilliant, clever and captivating novel. It has all the elements to make it such a perfect murder mystery…. An old mansion, a group of students (rich and ambitious) with hidden secrets and tensions, a week of celebrating the end of their school life before college and I guess uni gets in the way. What should have been a fun, partying and relaxing week turns into a nightmare as one of their own gets murdered… it soon becomes a game of cat and mouse between them and the detectives wanting to work who did it and why. I won’t spoil it but oh wow this is superb there are so many twists and turns that make you wonder who did it. It has all the hallmarks of Agatha Christie with a fantastic, complicated and compelling cast of characters that feel believable and relatable. It also deals with themes such as disabilities, the traumatic and gut wrenching deportation of family members mixed with the high and might rich families who have cracks and fissures of their own. I am so excited what the author will write next.
