Different but doesn't interest me
This book is a very different take on a wartime novel. Set after the war following a young refugee on her journey to England and the post-war state it was in.
Seemed like a good premise, and there's enough mystery with hidden knives and slight sinister overtones in places but I found I just couldn't get into the style of writing and came close to just skimming bits, and this was just the first impression.
I don't think it was the story concept as much as the style but not one for me.
