For this first impression i have one word that describes this book "WOW". "A silent figure with worn clothes and a small cardboard suitcase containing a single grey glove". Already i am beginning to wonder what these details mean, worn clothes, a small cardboard suitcase, perhaps she is poor, a single grey glove, perhaps this belongs to a family member or a friend that she has lost during the war or maybe she is trying to return the glove to that person. Her mission is to reach summerland hall and find the person who can solve a wartime mystery. What is the mystery, who is the person who can solve it and why can they solve it. And then summerland hall has its own secrets and shadows from the past, what are these secrets and shadows, and it might hold the key to a new life, perhaps a fresh start. The front cover also intriuges me as there is a map that has deutsch on it perhaps the girl is german, Three planes come from the right perhaps british planes and one plane falls to crash on the left possibly german this may symbolise that the germans lost ww2 and the british and the allies won.

I have a lot of questions about this book so look forward to answering them by reading this book. So far this sounds like an incredible masterpiece of a book and the kind of book that i would read.
