What an intriguing start to a book.
We are introduced to Brigitta, an Austrian refugee who has come to England with the Red Cross with other children rescued from Auschwitz.
However, whilst the introduction to the children and their experiences is harrowing, there is more the Brigitta than meets the eye. She is not presented as a victim.
She makes her way to Yorkshire to Summerland with the intention of murdering Lady Summer. Why? We don't know yet.
This looks to be an exciting read and I look forward to reading more.
