It's set in a time period much romanticised by history, had the allies not won, the focus may be more in the enourmous amount we had lossed rather than gained. The children returning to the cities, some returning to nothing must have been tortious and very scary. This story is set in that period for one child who is a mystery. This looks like a fascinating book and the synopsis make you extremely intrigued.
