I have a number of friends who arrived in England in 1939 via the Kinderstransport programme and know what long-lasting effects their experiences have had on them. However, I've never read anything about the children who arrived after the war and who had to struggle to come to terms with all the horrific events they witnessed so this is a story which holds an immediate appeal for me ... although I imagine I'm likely to find it very upsetting.
