My first impression on this is a little mixed, I feel drawn in by this slightly mysterious protagonist but can’t help feel that it is all a little bit twee.
Of course, the setting is an interesting and important part of history, but I’m worried that this is going to descend into something a bit safe and a bit dull and a bit hokey. I hope that I’m proven wrong, as their were strong elements in the opening pages that captured my interest.
