This was a really good book. It was written in a style that drew me in from the start. The book covers some difficult topics relating to the second world war but at the same time was very easy to read. The story follows Brigitta who is a Jewish person who was in hiding during the war. She travels to Summerland, a dilapidated stately home in England, to find some answers but instead finds herself gaining a new type of life. She also has to navigate the British language and customs, which is at times rather amusing! There are several interesting characters in the book and some great twists and turns in the story. There is also the unusual dimension that Brigitta can see ghosts. The story has a solid plot and for me was a real page turner.
