World War Two is over but that doesn't mean life instantly goes back to how it was before. In this novel we meet Brigitta, a Jewish orphan of war, who is taken to England by the British red cross. However, she has barely arrived in the country when she runs away in search of Summerland.

This is a beautiful read, with a great twist, and I was in awe of Brigitta from the very beginning. There are so many stories out there about the lives of people in the middle of war that we often do not think about afterwards. Especially the children who lost whole families. My only critique would be that I wish it was longer. It was such a short read!

I would recommend this book both to those who like historical fiction and Young Adult.
