I liked the premise of this book - the story of a European child caught up in World War 2 who has been shipped to England following the end of the war by the Red Cross to live and discover a new life. It is a heart warming tale.

From the beginning, you sense that there is more than meets the eye regarding the main character however you're left questioning what might happen next and wondering exactly what the motivation of the character is. The main character is endearing and you can't help but want everything to work out for them and for there to be a happy ending.

Despite being simply written for quick reading, the book is engaging and exciting and I would recommend it for anyone who is interested in WW2 historical fiction.
