Highly Enjoyable
This book intrigued me from the beginning as instead of recalling what happened during the war, this novel focuses on what happened to people after the war which was of great interest to me.
I loved the way each chapter is named after a meal that inconspicuously slides into the story of that chapter somehow.
The main character is very likeable with tales of hard times but also some humour along the way as she tries to make it through a new country and getting grips with a new language.
I would definitely buy this book as I am intrigued to see what brought Brigitte to summer land as all does not appear as it seems and I would also like to find out what happened to her mum and their last in Germany.
