My opinion on the book Summerland is very good.
It is a wonderful, very wonderful read. It is a YA novel,it is almost a book with two halves. I t begins very serious with refugees brought from Europe to England to flee from the war, the hunger and trauma. Brigitta is also a refugee and travels with them, but she doesn`t plan on staying with them. Oh no, she plans on escaping as soon as possible. When she has finally reached Summerland, the first half of the story begins.
We also learn in the novel, that she has a secret to keep at all costs and doesn`t tell anybody. You will wonder a lot what it is (this part is especially very well wrighten).
A few chapters later, the secret is revieled and if you had paid a lot of attention you could have an idea what it is. But even so you will be surprised by it.
This story is avery touching story about the human natur, violenece, sufferin, pain, but also happiness and freedom.
