A whole new way of thinking about death
I absolutely loved this story, from the loveable and unique characters to the style of writing, from the first page to the very last word. It touched me in so many ways, changing my outlook on life and death, but also giving me something to laugh about and enjoy. It really makes the reader reconsider their views on death and what occurs after, while remaining an uplifting, positive and funny story to read.
It captures the grief a family goes through after losing a child so well, it enables the reader to apply themselves to the situation and imagine what it would be like.
It ended in the most perfect way, with a flash forward and a poignant change of perspective to tie up the loose ends left by Lily and bring the story to an easy and touching close.
I could hardly put it down, even to sleep, and I'm honestly dad to have finished it.
