I actually really enjoyed this book. It was a heartfelt piece that really pulled at my emotions; it was a novel about letting go, and how hard grief can really be, especially when someone's death is unexpected and so sudden.

There were times when the writing was a bit cringe-worthy, I will admit - but it did play into Lily's character. I've never been a huge fan of author's using capitals in speech when the character's aren't angry - e.g. Lily says at one point something along the lines of 'your shoes... they're GORGEOUS!' - but I'm being very picky. There were also a fair few mistakes and typos that I couldn't help but notice - it said in the narration that 'Ben's dad took us home,' but it was in fact Matthew's dad, and Lily wouldn't call her own dad 'Ben's dad' anyway. But again, I'm being picky!

There was a rawness about Lily's character that really made this book - yes she was a fifteen year old girl, so obviously she was annoying at times, and immature, but that made it realistic in my opinion. But her age also made it that much more emotional when she spoke of letting go and dying - she was so young to die, and that just made it even more difficult for me to read.

It really pulled at my heartstrings! Would definitely recommend to others.

My vote: 4 out of 5.
