I was hooked on this book practically from page one. I’ve absolutely loved it. There have been bits that have made me laugh, there have been bits that have made me cry. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.

One of the first times I cried was during the scene that Lily figured out she had been killed, so right at the beginning of the book basically. That sense of panic when people started to turn up and she saw her own body for the first time. I felt really sorry for her.

Her parents and brother finding out was really emotional too, especially Ben’s reaction. I liked that as they were sorting all the arrangements, she was talking to him and communicating to him what she wanted. The sunflowers were really nice.

When we found out that it was Nathan’s mum had killed Lily, I kind of felt the same emotions as she did later on. She was worried about how it would affect the rest of the family, since Nathan had been her boyfriend she obviously didn’t want him to be upset or angry. But at the same time I wished they’d found out straight away, like garage scene straight away. There was an opportunity there that wasn’t taken and I understand it was to keep the story going longer and to be fair the ending would’ve been very different.

Obviously this book is quite spiritual or supernatural already but from the description on the back I honestly thought that they were going to find a way to bring Lily back to life somehow.

I was a bit shocked when Ben had that out of body experience when he fell asleep and he saw Lily. Even more so when she went into his body and was reluctant to give it back. I got worried when she went to sleep and he wasn’t there. I thought maybe she’d have to stay in his body forever because something had happened to him.

But luckily he was still there, as found out later in the book when after his mum and dad found out and Lily was finally ready to move on after completely items on her after bucket list and finally forgiving Nathan’s mum for what had happened.

I liked the character Sue, she definitely helped Lily come to terms with what needed to happen and wasn’t forcing her to leave Ben’s body but making sure she knew that it’s best for her to move on.

I loved the moment between Lily and Ben after she left his body and they were both in limbo. I don’t think we saw as much of Ben’s character as himself as I would’ve liked but that ending when he told her that he was giving her the time she needed to figure things out and live a bit more of her life was nice and that definitely made up for it.

I would give this book 5 stars, would definitely read it again and I recommend it to everyone to read!
