This book is fairly unique in the premise of following a person as they die and directly after and I think this plot has huge potential and looks promising from the opening.

The first 30 pages definitely caught my attention and clearly addresses some relevant ideas about grief and family. I loved the different points of view and family dynamics. I think it is also really important to talk about grief and have a young-ish audience understand what it can be like to lose someone.

I will say however that I'm not sure I like the main character, Lily, she seems kind of two-dimensional, but this is just my first impression. She also seems a bit stereotypical in her interests as a 15-year-old girl.

I think this would suit most contemporary YA readers and seems like a thoughtful novel.
