A harrowing read

I was hoping for an in-depth account and not a one-sided story, and I believe this is what I got with "Surviving Execution."

Ian Woods has written a harrowing book, telling the story of Richard Glossip's imprisonment on death row and impending execution for a murder which he allegedly did not commit. It is hard to read in places, particularly the descriptions of prior executions which did not quite go to plan, which I found particularly distressing. The book has been well researched and the story is told in an easy-to-read way, despite the content and alternating between years. This book may be more about abolishing the death penalty than the actual case of Richard Glossip, but it is a well-written and informative account which I'm glad I read.
