Surviving Execution is an honest, straightforward and gripping tale of one mans fight for justice. Richard Glossip is a man sentenced to one of the most barbaric punishments we can give, The Death Penalty, for a crime he did not psychically commit all on the word of a self confessed killer. Ian Woods writes with a brutal honesty as he dives headfirst into a bizarre and sometimes downright baffling justice system that does not seem to have any consistency at all. It provokes a range of emotions from sadness to anger and will keep you reading on and on. Do not be fooled that it is an impersonal account from a journalist looking for a story, Ian Woods brings a personal and haunting insight into how he met a man who he believes does not deserve the punishment he has been given.

This is a must read book for anyone interested in crime and the justice system. It should be read by everyone really as this is a punishment that needs to be looked at. With real life people from every end of the social spectrum it's a interwoven story of how people can vary, how our beliefs can seem extreme and the pack animal mentality of how harsh punishment can survive and flurish in the 21st century.
