A true crime book about the miscarriage of justice and the fight to end the death penalty.
Although hard to read at times due to the subject matter, this book is so informative and compelling. Ian Woods, a British journalist investigates the case of Richard Glossip but also capital punishment as a whole and the wider justice (or injustice) system.
I learnt so much about laws in different US states, how the accused gain legal support and how capital punishment is delivered.
Richard Glossip, sentenced to death, has been on death row for twenty years, despite never having actually killed anyone. This was so fascinating, thought provoking and heartbreaking to learn about. As it stands Richard Glossip is still on death row so the book does not conclude. This leads you to think about the book and the US legal system long after the book finishes
