Sweet Little Lies has a brilliant cover and back page so I picked it up in my local bookshop (always buy independent). Sadly I found the read very tough. The premise was great but the writing itself felt very clonkly and I struggled to see the flow. I normally devour a book in less than a day but this took me over a week. I wonder if the character of Cat could be more likeable, and if the relationships be better defined and explained, especially her family ones. An ls those who are like family to her, Parnell and Steel. These two characters are prominent in the story at the start but seemed to disappear in the end. I’d have liked the loose ends tied up, to take a quote from the book. I liked the final twist at the end.
