What I really liked about it was the fact that the characters are strong and you can really sympathise with the heroine. I always really enjoy a book with two detectives who are very different people but work together exceptionally. But it was interesting that the power dynamic between them was unusual. But I shall say no more....... I like how there are flashbacks in the book but you don't get lost. Really would recommend. You are left questioning almost everything but the style in which it is written you don't blame the author despite the frustration.
I would've liked a bit more drama straight away but this could be described as a slow burn at the start but it still gripped me enough that I read it in one sitting! It isn't what I would say is your usual detective/crime novel purely because of the different power dynamics and the family trauma behind it all however i really liked this change.
