What a brilliant crime book with many twists and turns!

I accidentally read the second in this series first but this provided a great back story. Although I had a suspicion regarding the ending that proved to be right, I really liked how the characters back stories were introduced to lead the readers mind down another path of 'Who dunnit'. The relationship between Kat and Lou was quite heartfelt and amusing with him acting as the cringey dad-joke but supportive friend and colleague for the main character. I would definitely recommend this book to someone starting out in the crime and mystery genre and those who like the secret identity trope. However, I would've liked more page space on the relationship between Kat and her siblings as it seemed a little cliche with the slight jealousy between them but it was relevant to the story (particularly with the flashbacks).
