This is an amazing debut. The characters are so well built and I really connected with them throughout the book.
There are dark tones throughout, yet some of the dialogue brightens this up by being witty, which does take away from the bleak and darkness!
Cat (the main character) isn’t particularly different to any of the other primary police officer characters that I’ve encountered in other books, but she did keep me entertained, which is a good thing.
In terms of the “twists”, I found them largely predictable but this quite normal for a crime/thriller book, so I wasn’t upset by this.
I did really enjoy reading this, and I actually recommended it to my sister and mum after finishing it. The cover is really nice and I’m looking forward to reading other work by this author.
