Just from the title, I knew I would love this book! For there is nothing I love more in books than deceit and secrets, and this book conveys all of this perfectly. Strangely, I find the narrator funny. Not as in a one-line cracker joke, but as in a desperately snorting laughter way. The main character is in a horrible situation where she chooses to simply say nothing, yet I still find her self-deprecating comments funny and relatable. For we all have chosen to keep secrets, and that's what makes this book perfect! A storyline of deceit or secrets is hardly original, yet Caz Frear still manages to grasp me onto the first chapters and still be surprised and suspended with questions. I don't think this book will be predictable with its plot twist, and that's what I love already with this book. From the first couple of chapters, I know that this book will both shock me to the core and yet make me conspire all these theories before I finish the book.
