Despite the fact that I was in the bookstore looking for a different book, the description on the back of "Sweet Little Lies" appealed to me right away. I tend to enjoy first-person female narratives so I thought I'd give the book a read. I was not disappointed. I was hooked by the end of the first chapter and finished the book in a matter of a couple days (which would have been even quicker if I wasn't so busy with work).

Caz Frear is able to completely bring alive the world of Cat Kinsella. You immediately bond with her and begin rooting for her as she tries to not only solve a murder, but also grapples with complicated family secrets, lies, and strained relationships. As the story unfolds, you relate to her struggles. While it's a "who-dun-it" novel, there's enough personality for it to not feel formulaic. Overall an awesome book.
