At first glance I was captured by the colour and detail of this book, and it keeps your interest in finding out about all the information for each country. Each country includes a good mixture of information on the countries cultural roots and the history of the place but I especially liked seeing the recipes that you if you can try out it will really bring the reading to life!
The only drawback that I felt was the size of the book - it’s massive! So quite hard to hold up, it sits well on a table or the floor. I definitely think it’s a treasure to have in a classroom or library as it draws you in with all the pictures and information and it’s big size means it can be easily shared with a friend or propped up as a display book. Because the book gives a lot of information it fits in well into lots of study for instance - geography, history and home economics or food studies.
