This was an absolutely HUGE book, massive to hold but it has so much info too.
Every two pages deals with a specific country, you get a brief overview of it's general history, then it's food social impact of the dishes and even in some cases relevance to religious observances.
All was set out in easy to read, bitesize chunks of info and enhanced with lovely, colourful illustrations.
Every page also had a recipe or two pertaining to that country and it's cuisine.
I haven't seen a recipe book quite like this before and as I say the layout was really nice and detailed too.
I'm guessing it's aimed at younger audiences as readers but as an adult I found it fascinating and especially enjoyed the historical aspect of it all.
Some of the recipes sound really nice and quite simple so also want to have a go at them.
So in that respect I guess the book did it's job and inspired me.
