This is an educational and informative book aimed at children.

It’s the kind of thing I can imagine being in a class library in a KS1 classroom.
Could also be useful for children with shared heritage who are learning more about the cuisine of their parent cultures.

The pages are bright and colourful but also a little too busy for my liking. Whilst I appreciate it’s aimed at a younger audience I feel like there’s too much crammed onto some pages and it’s losing some of the facts it’s trying to put across, some of the information is a little too busy which my child would certainly find overwhelming or distracting.

The language is very descriptive and uses phrases like “splendidly pungent” so it’s extending vocabulary in addition to teaching about food. It also covers farming, growth and cultivation methods, so children can learn about the farm to table process
