Very engaging and informative
Take a Bite provides a wide range of information about food, from a geographical to a historical perspective. The mixture of easy to read text and images makes it a great introductory book for children.
The numerous recipes help to bring the book alive and are easy to follow. This practical element provides another way of learning for children.
Take a Bite is an engaging and informative book, however, I would say that it is rather 'busy' and thus distracting in parts. Because the book is trying to do so much and is laid out in such a way, it seems the author's are trying to pack everything onto a limited amount of space. This can make parts distracting.
I think this book would be great for helping to children to develop their cooking skills, whilst also learning about different cultures and their culinary histories. This book would also be a great for primary schools.
