This novel has it all - an ex MI6 agent who has lost his memory, an intuitive female detective,wholesale family massacres, Russian politicians and their mistresses...
These are all linked together in a confusing and improbable plot with so many coincidences that it beggars belief.
This story might work better as an action film but I found it hard work trying to keep track of who everybody was and how they knew or were related to each other.
The cover is misleading as it shows a man and a woman standing in a snowy landscape watching 2 helicopters in the sky - a scene which doesn't appear in the story.
if I hadn't decided to review this book and been influenced by the earlier reviews of others into believing it would get better, I would have abandoned reading this long before the end.
