I was pleasantly surprised by this extract. The cover and the blurb didn't capture my attention and as I'm not normally a fan of historical fiction, I didn't think I would enjoy the extract. However, I liked the descriptive narrative and found the story line intriguing. I'm interested in crime fiction and the history of medicine and this book seems to feature a little bit of both. I wouldn't rush out and buy this book but I would read it if someone was kind enough to give me a copy.
