Instantaneously, the premise resonates slightly with that of ‘Ashes of London’ by Andrew Taylor, a book that I have thoroughly enjoyed.
The combination of historical thriller/mystery encourages me to read more and the cliffhanger only extended that further.
The only two downsides I have for this book so far is that the cover doesn’t have as much of an impact as I’d like as I don’t think it conveys what the book has to offer and some aspects of the first impression feel over-extended and too lengthy to fully take it all in. Nonetheless, I look forward to seeing what else this books has to offer!
