In this debut novel by Tori Henwood Hoen the author explores the world of dating. In The Arc Ursula is finding it impossible to find the right man for her. After a few long-term relationships that didn't work she tried dating sites and apps without success. Following a disastrous date when she drank too much on an empty stomach and was sick in the taxi with her date she despairs of ever finding the elusive 'one'. The next day Ursula meets her friend Issa at The Stake, a feminist wellness centre, and tells her the whole sorry story. They decide to go to the steam room which only has one other occupant and Ursula and Issa continue their conversation. When the other woman leaves the steam room she stops and hands Ursula a card for a dating site called The Arc which promises one introduction as they're so confident of finding the right match. Will this be the time when Ursula finally meets the right man? Before the reader finds out I'm sure the author is going to take us on a fascinating journey.
