I almost didn't bother taking a 'sneak peek' at the content of the story because the rather garish cover was an immediate turn off as I felt the design was intended to attract readers much younger than I am! However, I reminded myself that one should never judge a book by its cover so I downloaded the pdf and by the time I'd got to the end of the third chapter I was impressed that the author had already engaged my attention and made me eager to read more! I think this was probably because it had already become clear that although the humorous observations were highly entertaining (many of them were very visual!), there were indications that the story will have its more serious, thought-provoking moments.
