I thoroughly enjoyed this debut novel by Tory Henwood Hoen. I received this as an ARC through Readers First and I was giggling from the first chapter.

There's something entirely relatable about the topic of dating in the modern world, the convenience of apps and the merry go round of encounters that see you cycle through the excitement, honeymoon period and then the crash when things go wrong. We meet Ursula, a successful and vibrant 35 year old, unlucky in love New Yorker. Hoen does a fantastic job of visualising a bourgeois backdrop that had me rolling my eyes at the elitist lifestyle of it all, but in a good way. A chance encounter at one such feminist spa club and we are introduced to the prospect of a new way to date... the Arc.

Can a top secret retreat really calculate a guaranteed match? Is there truly a way for compatibility to be narrowed down to that rate of success? With a hefty price tag Ursula takes the plunge and is provided her match in Rafael.

The path of true love never runs smooth. Is the success rate too good to be true? We are taken along on the ride as the relationship blossoms. A very satisfying read, witty and kept me turning the pages. I look forward to reading more from this author.
