This is an unusual story about dating in this day and age. Ursula has met boyfriends in her day to day life and through dating apps in the past but none of the relationships have worked out, the opportunity to try a whole new dating experience through the mysterious Arc matches her with Rafael and it’s instantly a positive relationship. The story follows them through the Arc experience which continues until eighteen months after they were matched.
The concept is fascinating and the methods the Arc uses are innovative and at times I suspect devious and overall I found the concept engaging however for me the book focussed too much on Ursula, in particular the work version of Ursula, whom I just didn’t like, Rafael seemed ok but there weren’t many chapters just about him. For me I would have focussed more on Ursula and Rafael as individuals and taken the work side out of it. That is very much a personal opinion though, overall it’s a decent debut and I would read another book by the author.
