When I read the first look of this novel on reader's first, I was very excited to continue and ended up using my points towards it and the bottom line is... they were well spent! I was elated when I received this beautiful hardback in the post and although it took me a little while to get round to reading it, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
As Vogue rightly explained this novel ('A thoroughly modern love story with old-fashioned heart') it was very modern -even more so than the average contemporary romance- and almost ahead of our time. While I was skeptical of the third- person narrative, it actually worked well and I found the characters just as likeable as if they had been written in first person. The undertones of dark humour were fantastic and the novel as a whole was really thought provoking and really shed light on the importance technology serves in our lives emotionally as well as in our day to day happenings.
Overall, to keep this review spoiler free I will end by saying that this was a fantastic debut novel by Tory Henwood Hoen and I 100% recommend you read it right now!
