The Arc is such a unique premise for a book. The second I saw the cover, I knew I had to have it. I was not disappointed. The characters are perfectly charming, weird, and totally relatable. Ursula's relationship with her cat resonated a hell of a lot. It's a poignant story about the pressures we put on ourselves to fall in love, and the impact outside forces might have on that.
As we follow Ursula and Rafael's love story, we see the amount of effort it takes for two people to fall in love. When you spend $50k to try and find your perfect match, the pressure is on.
If you're a fan of quirky books, with hilarious anecdotes and brilliant storylines (akin to Bridget Jones's Diary) then this is the book for you. Within the whole book, I didn't meet a character that I didn't, on some level, love.
This book is truly an achievement. I can't wait for Hoen's next release.
