It had potential

I really really wanted to like it. It had so much potential, the concept was great and it had so
many places it could have gone.

(It's important to mention that I did not finish this book, and put it down just before halfway)

Right if the bat I could tell that it was going to be difficult for me to get into because the language and constant pop references were a massive no for me. It felt like the dialogue was trying way so hard to be casual and normal that it ended up feeling so unnatural. Not to mention the really unnecessarily weird setting. The weird spa was so completely not needed and just made everything even weirder.

I really didn't like the main character, I understood what the author was going for, but I don't think it turned out how it was supposed to.

I had absolutely zero connection to any of the characters which made it incredibly hard to care about their love lives, which was the whole point of the book.
