I was delighted to receive a review copy of this as I love exploring the intersection of technological development and human emotions - and whist this is perhaps a less technical-focused version of that sub-genre it was still an excellent read.

This book truly felt like a blessing as the main character, Ursala Byrne, felt like such an accurate, contemporary representation of a 30-something women (albeit perhaps the interactions with a billionaire are a bit laughable) and the writers approach throughout was smart and witty.

The pace is just right and at times I actually laughed out loud - the initial introduction to 'The Stake' brought me particular joy.

I'd be happy to read more of Tory Henwood Hoen in the future and would recommend The Arc to my friends - albeit perhaps as a 'holiday' read for some with a slightly more serious taste.
