On starting The Arc I was drawn in, but found Ursula to be a little annoying. As a character she lacked the depth or warmth to keep me going. Her quirks distracted too much for me.
I found some of the writing quite comical at times, but not necessarily in an intention funny way. Some of the descriptions had me rolling my eyes! The portrayal of feminist characters that didn't really have me on board. The womb room...please! Yes, I rolled my eyes again!
It had intentions of being a bit black mirror-esque but didn't really carry on through for me.
I do wonder if I struggled more as it isn't my usual read so couldn't fully engage. Maybe if it had been a holiday read then I could of approached it differently.
Whilst, I seem quiet negative about it, it wasn't the most horrendous story I have read!
