Thank you to Readers First and the publisher for allowing me to read this book!

I had high hopes for The Arc, as I thought the concept of this book is really unique, and I typically love a contemporary fiction/romance novel. However, I found the book pretty slow from quite early on, and thought it was quite difficult to get into. I loved the initial character-building for Ursula, and thought her personality came across as very funny. However, as soon as the introduction of 'The Arc' came into the book, I found myself becoming disinterested. There were moments when the novel seemed to go off on long tangents, and I would find myself skipping a few pages, or skimming over the section to reach a more exciting moment. I also thought the whole premise with the 7-night stay for $50000 was slightly obscene (I realise it's not meant to be real-life, it was just a tad too farfetched for me!). I also couldn't warm overly to Rafael's character initially, although he did grow on me throughout the book. I also eye-rolled a lot during the period of Ursula and Rafael getting to know each other!

Overall, I'm not sure I would recommend The Arc to other readers, but can see that there are plenty of good reviews, so maybe it just wasn't to my taste.
