Then jumps to the first day for a detective in a new precinct, one where she is replacing the man she put behind bars, that seems a story in itself and i had to check if there was a previous book by this author but the blurb says it is a debut. She jumps straight in to a case when she is asked to accompany on a call out about a complaint of a street art installation - turns out to be the current collection hinted at in the opening - and it's dead bodies in formaldehyde. The opening hinted at the man responsible was going to check out the reveal so have we met him in one of the people already described in the opening blurb, will the detective be able to stop him before his next collection is ready? Intriguing opening any way.
