An unnamed character is collecting names of people interesting to him to a view with using them in some future plan. He is waiting for "his" exhibition to be unveiled.
Three glass cabinets are, indeed, shortly unveiled, each containing an unnervingly realistic figure suspended in liquid.
In her first day of a new placement, DI Archer, along with DS Quinn, go to check a complaint from the organiser of the exhibition that the exhibits are not, in any way, fit to be on public view. She recognises one of the figures and realises these are actually corpses.....
