I have to say, I have tried reading books from the crime genre centred around a detective figure before and have had little success with them (although I love older stuff like Sherlock Holmes and Poirot). I find the more current stuff too gruesome for my liking. So I am hopeful with this one that it will be a book I actually enjoy. The premise sounds good, I like that the main character is a woman, and I am intrigued enough to give the genre another go. The book cover is suggestively dark but I am hopeful that this is one detective book I can get through.
