After receiving my copy of the art of death from readers first, I was excited to finally pick it up and read it. It was a good read, but not a great read in my opinion. Grace Archer has an interesting story but I just didn’t feel attached to the character as one would hope from a main. Don’t get me wrong she is fairly likeable but that’s about as far as it goes.
However, the story-building is very good, and I enjoyed the different POVs from different characters. I would have preferred more from the killer and the victims, but I can see why Grace Archer has such a chunk of the POVs as she is the detective solving the murder. It is easy to follow and fairly sinister, but I also found the twist to be quite predictable and found myself getting clues before the police department. Overall, it was a good thriller and an interesting insight to a fictional serial killer in London, and a fairly pleasant read.
