This follows DI Grace Archer who has just started at a new police station and on her first day she is assigned with what looks like a serial killer case.

The killer is killing people and then presenting their bodies in glass cabinets and placing them in public places and describing them as 'his works of art'

I really liked the concept of this and I love David Fennells writing style and how he described things. This did remind me of The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson with the preserving of died bodies in glass cages. But totally different story.

I really like the main characters in this and was glad to also see a transsexual police officer. I loved the relationship between Grace and her grandad.

While reading this it did refer back to things that had happened in Grace past as a child and also how she managed to get the job. And it felt like I was reading a second book in a series, which isnt the case. I think this is David Fennells 3rd book. The first two being urban fantasy books, so nothing like this one.

I did guess who the killer was but this didnt take anything away from my enjoyment of the book. I really liked Grace Archer and I would love to read more books with her in them.

A solid 4/5 stars.
